Do I need to change the filter? Both Cambridge Mask and Respilon face masks have sewn-in filters, so when it's eventually time to replace the filter, you just replace the entire mask. The masks are long-lasting and designed to be worn many times over - they are reusable and washable, and the high-quality filters are sewn into the masks. This prevents filters from being incorrectly installed, and ensures that seepage does not occur as a result of incorrect filter placement. Please read the details on each mask product-page for washing and care instructions. Your mask has the potential to last many months.

Why are your masks such a high standard? To stop the spread of Covid19 we only retail face coverings and masks that have been laboratory tested and have passed the European and US standards for N99 protection. While some masks may protect others from the mask-wearer, N99 masks/face-coverings also protect mask-wearers from those who are not wearing masks.
-
What does N99 mean?N99 means that the material used in the mask/face covering has been laboratory tested and proven to filter out 99% of airborne particles or more. The term N99 is the rating/designator given to material that passes these tests. In the case of coronavirus this is very important as the higher the N number, the less likely the virus will be able to pass through the mask/face covering. Coronavirus can be as small as 0.1 micron in size, so it's important to wear a mask that has the right rating/designator - for coronavirus it's N99.
-
Why do I need an N99 mask to protect myself from Covid19?You aren't protecting yourself unless you use an N99 face covering. Coronavirus leaves the mouth in large water droplets, and disperses into smaller droplets and particles (smaller than 0.1 micron). Home-made face coverings might stop some of the larger droplets leaving your mouth, but they will not stop you from inhaling smaller particles dispersed from others. A laboratory tested N99 mask or scarf stops the large particles AND the smaller particles from being breathed in or out. Stay safe by using N99 laboratory tested face coverings.
